      Frequently asked questions

How do you count the stops?

We count the stops between where you get on and where you get off: the stop you board at doesn't count, the one you get off at does. Yenikapı to Taksim on the M2 is 4 stops: Vezneciler, Haliç and Şişhane, then Taksim.

      Which lines are covered?

42 lines in Istanbul: metro lines, Marmaray, the Metrobus, trams, ferries, funiculars and cable cars, 339 stops in total, plus stop lists for İETT bus lines.

      How accurate are the times?

For Metro İstanbul lines we take the operator's published end-to-end journey time and split it by the distance between stations. For Marmaray, the M11 and the Metrobus the time is estimated from distance and marked as an estimate.

      Do you cover other cities?

Yes: Izmir, Kocaeli, Konya, and Gaziantep.

      How kacdurak.com works

      Counting the stops

When you pick two stops we count every station in between. The stop you board at isn't counted; the one you get off at is. If you change lines, the stops on each line are added up, and the result page lists them in order so you can follow how many are left. The same page tells you which direction to take, by the name of the line's last stop.

      Journey time

Times come from the journey times the operators publish. A few minutes are added at each change for getting to the other platform, and walking between stations is counted at 75 metres a minute. Waiting for the train isn't included, so add a few minutes depending on how often it runs.

      Fares

A full fare with the Istanbulkart is 46,20 TL. If you change vehicles within 120 minutes of the first tap, the first transfer costs 34,40 TL and the second 26,42 TL. On Marmaray and the Metrobus the fare depends on how many stations or stops you travel. Each route page shows the total for that trip; the full tariff is on the Istanbulkart fares page.

      Which lines are covered?

Istanbul has 11 metro lines, 4 tram lines, Marmaray, the Metrobus, 3 funiculars, 2 cable cars and 20 ferry routes, with 339 stops and piers in total. The line with the most stops is the Metrobus, with 44. The stations where the most lines meet are Yenikapı (4 lines), Aksaray (3 lines), Yenibosna (3 lines), and Zeytinburnu (3 lines). Stop lists for İETT bus lines are on separate pages.

      Where the data comes from

Station order, journey times and first and last services come from Metro İstanbul's open data, Marmaray and Metrobus stops from the İBB Open Data Portal, and ferry times from Şehir Hatları's timetable. Details are on the data sources page.
